A process-oriented approach to Art Therapy is at the center of creative work at Felt Studio. This means that an emphasis is placed on the processes associated with making visual art. For example, stitch-based arts (sewing, knitting, etc.) are viewed as opportunities for exploring contemplative and meditative states induced by the repetitive micro-movements involved in the process. Art therapy can facilitate exploration of wordless experiences with profound impact, which can support both individual and couple/relationship therapy work in unique ways. While fiber arts are an area of focus at Felt Studio, art therapy is offered in a variety of mediums to suit the client’s needs and preferences.
